In a very close series, froyotech hold off Reason Gaming in the lower final of Insomnia55 2-1 (2-3 Badlands, 4-3 Gullywash, 3-1 Product).

Reason Gaming and froyotech met in the lower final, with froyotech dropping from the upper final after a close loss to nerdRage.tf2 1-2 and Reason Gaming having advanced from beating Ascent in the lower round of 4 in an even closer series 2-1. The two teams met previously in the upper round of 6, where froyotech beat Reason in a fairly close series 2-0.

The series began on Badlands, Reason's pick. Reason came out to a fast start, rolling the first two rounds after dominant mid victories. froyotech finally repelled Reason during a last push after a mid win, and slowly battle their way back to take their first round. In the next round, froyotech managed to take mid, but Reason immediately came back in and roll their way to last to reestablish a two round lead with just over half the game done. froyotech rolled another round to pull back within one, and win the next mid as well. However, Reason battled back and held froyotech to their second point until time expires, preserving their win 3-2 and giving them the series lead.

Thus, froyotech were forced to win on their pick of Gullywash. Reason started out well here as well, taking the first round with ease. froyotech, not to be deterred, took the next mid and then the round after some resistance, tying the game ten minutes into the game. The two teams then traded rounds back and forth, leaving the score yet again tied at 3-3 with less than five minutes remaining. Reason took the initial mid, placing themselves at an advantage to take the game, but froyotech defended their second point and pushed it all the way back. With less than a minute left, they were unable to punch in the round, thus forcing the game into an overtime period. froyotech took a strong mid and pushed right in to secure the round, thus tying the series with a map win 4-3.

Product would thus be the deciding map of the series. froyotech secured the first round, but Reason was able to respond in the second, tying up the score 1-1. From then, froyotech dominated, taking the next two rounds to win the map 3-1 and secure the series win.

As a result, Reason Gaming are now out of the tournament in third place, securing £1,600 for their finish. froyotech will move on to the grand finals to face nerdRage.tf2, where they will look to secure a back-to-back championship as well as the lion's share of £7,500 still on the line.

I'm impressed by how scouts played on these, cw doing all the work on viaduct, haffi with his sick streaks and forsak3n with tricky russian-style plays, was so enjoyable to watch them

are all those people too dumb to realize that the team now has ash on scout instead of b4nny?

I don't think a single person on earth would rate ash as highly as scout as b4nny sooooo

I wouldn't really compare their performances directly like that. lansky put up insane numbers without being the focus of the team and dealing with banny on scout who was basically in on every uber and was effectively part of the combo. I think lansky's numbers are much more impressive in that context. Not to say banny's performance is bad (he's obviously having a really good tournament) but try to keep that in mind when comparing an older roster to a newer one.
