I was on youtube in the summer of 2013 and I saw this video in my feed. I was instantly obsessed, so I installed this game and started playing

#46 Cheater bans should be permanent in TF2 General Discussion

Hi I just want to add to this discussion and hopefully everyone feels like I'm hearing what is being put down.
I'm sure many of y'all have seen this Basically Homeless video with 1.2mil views, and I think people are more weary than ever of playing against cheaters since AI isn't exactly here to save us yet.

Allow me to pick on two of my friends of many years, instead of anyone I may not know:

hannahIn almost every other game, cheating leads to a lifetime banfyg99% of people who catch a cheating ban will continue to cheat after getting unbanned

We cannot simply assume these to be true. What RGL would need to see in order for this discussion to be productive is some concrete sources: what are true trends in the industry? Is there any research to support our experiences and opinions? It should go without saying that RGL wishes to follow the research, trends and facts here.

Afaik the origin of the cheating ban lengths started as 1 year from ESEA and we used this for some time before making it 2 years.

TL;DR: RGL is open to change, make better posts with thoughtful evidence and sources. Speak, and be heard

#48 Grnny~ Demo lft in Recruitment (looking for team)

grnny was one of my favorite teammates, he has good vibes and in my limited experience with him he showed flashes of brilliance. I haven't played with him in almost a year now but I figure he has fixed a lot of the issues from the soup team, would recommend

#37 4 suggestions for RGL in TF2 General Discussion

the development team sees this as a critical issue to fix

the 2 most important aspects for development are keeping low divs active/growing/high quality, so the game is fun to play for the majority, and improving how spectators can interface with matches, ie calendars, stats, higher quality broadcasts, highlights, etc.

to answer what was talked about directly, we have a few pages in the works for the current site to address this, as well as architecting the V2 site around those two core concepts. I think the former will be done in the summer at the latest, and the latter will probably be done around the end of '23

in a month or 2, I'll be making a thread to keep discourse open with the community, once we have a substantial body of work

and I encourage y'all to keep leaving feedback whether on threads here, discord dm me, Taylor or head admins, or make a ticket. feedback and suggestions are critical

#23 presidential roster in Off Topic

here's my B team with slept on presidents (my favorite president is Calvin Coolidge)

Pocket Scout (James K. Polk): Polk's work ethic and attention to detail would make him a great choice for the Pocket Scout role. He could quickly identify weaknesses in the enemy team and make precise movements to take advantage of those weaknesses.

Flank Scout (Calvin Coolidge): Coolidge's quiet and reserved personality could work to his advantage as a Flank Scout, allowing him to slip past the enemy team unnoticed. He could use his unassuming demeanor to lull the enemy into a false sense of security before striking.

Pocket Soldier (Zachary Taylor): Taylor was a military general before becoming president, and his battlefield experience would make him a valuable asset as the Pocket Soldier. He could use his strategic thinking and leadership skills to direct the team and make sure everyone is on the same page.

Roamer (Rutherford B. Hayes): Hayes was known for his innovative thinking and his willingness to try new things, which would make him a great fit for the Roamer role. He could use his creativity to come up with new strategies and approaches to the game.

Demoman (Millard Fillmore): Fillmore was known for his attention to detail and his ability to navigate complex political situations, which would translate well to the Demoman role. He could use his understanding of the battlefield to lay down traps and control the flow of the game.

Medic (William Henry Harrison): Harrison's experience as a military general would make him a great choice for the Medic role. He would be able to keep his cool in high-pressure situations and make quick decisions about when to heal his teammates and when to use the Ubercharge.
