#40 I didn't know this about ESEA, did you? in TF2 General Discussion
leakyOnd_kajaNo, tricking the customers is a horrible business practise and will not actually make you earn more money.
There is a difference between ESEA tricking its customers, and customers not fully reading what they are paying for online. In this case, the fine print.

Indeed, although the reason it is in the fine print in the first place is to get few extra coin from unaware people.

bastino it's a realistic attitude
they're a fucking business and every business does their little shit to get out a bit more money from their costumers, it's economie if i wanna get a bigger business i have to invest and i if i have to invest i have to have money.
ya know you can't pay bills from beeing nice

No, tricking the customers is a horrible business practise and will not actually make you earn more money. The reason ESEA is struggling right now is because of their despicable attitude towards customers, trying to squeeze every cent out of them (even with very shady methods such as bitcoin mining without consent). The customers eventually get tired and stop paying for the services because ESEA clearly isn't delivering. True long-term stability comes from providing good service and making the customer want to pay for the service again.

ehFkYou are willfully paying for someones subscription, why wouldn't it auto-renew to your debit card? They don't emphasize it because it is an easy way to make money, but that is no different than any other service that offers subscriptions. Welcome to the real world.

Well, it caught me off-guard and I ended up paying for three extra months of premium. I wouldn't be particularily upset about it if it wasn't for the fact that the last season was terrible and ESEA pretty much fucked us over in every way possible. Being an ESEA virgin, I genuinely thought I was paying for three months of premium, not a subscription that is renewed every three months. I guess it's my fault for not reading the fine print but then again I seldom encounter companies that try to get few extra dollars by trying to trick the customer, sounds like that would give you bad reputation. So I guess this is an American business thing or that ESEA doesn't really care about their reputation.

Thank you rays for making such an awesome HUD! However, one issue I have is when I play against teams with long clantags, I won't be able to properly read their names if the scoreboard is in minmode, it's cut off like this:

#32 Any Tf2 players going to dreamhack? in TF2 General Discussion
bscAndKenneth
That tells me who they play for, not who they are. From what I understand div 1 is under prem. I don't understand how that makes them "professional"

they're better than casuals wondering around dreamhack

KairuActually touching the floor: speedshot.

Not touching the floor, usually off of a lone platform (like on your gully 2nd jump): skipping.

Skip-jump isn't really a thing, you're using the term interchangeably for different techniques.

The snakewater 'skip-jump' is more practical to land and rocket jump to window as to not lose so much HP.
The badlands 'skip-jump' is much better with a pogo (or skip, if you prefer), as to not lose so much HP and still achieve the exact same jump.

Really cool map though, really like the transitions.

It's called a pogo when you don't touch the ground, and skip-jump when you do. Never heard the term speedshot though.

freq*2+1 is an arbitrary value. You can cap it anywhere as long as it's over the refresh rate and the cmdrate/updaterate.
