#3524 PC Build Thread in Hardware
Setsul#3523
Seems like a good plan.
Budget?

€250-€300 seems reasonable to me for a case + motherboard. It's cyber monday soon though so I can't really tell what the budget will be.

#3522 PC Build Thread in Hardware

Hi

My pc just died so I'm considering buying a new one. I already have a new gfx card and a power supply.

So I'm looking for a processor, motherboard and case I'm considering a Ryzen 5 3600X, looking for suggestions for the other stuff. Smaller is better, as I want to be able to bring it to LANs, but it obviously needs to fit all my stuff as well (one ssd, one hdd). Don't plan on using more than one gfx card (gtx 1060) or any other cards. Also don't plan on overclocking the processor so I think stock cooling will be fine.

#2 5cp_signal in Map Discussion

I've walked around the map but I haven't tested it in actual gameplay. Here's some things you can think about.

1. The distance between mid and second is really short. This could make things very snowbally. In other maps, you usually have one chance to defend last if you get wiped after a mid fight.

2. On the other hand, the chokepoints between mid and second are very spammable, which probably makes it difficult to create something in an equal uber vs uber scenario. I don't know if this is the case for certain, but it looks easier to hold than other maps.

3. The mid is very closed off which makes it hard for soldiers to bomb compared to other maps. Maybe you could raise the "windows" so that it enables soldier to bomb higher.

4. I see that you've made it so that you can not hide in forward spawn, you just teleport back once a point is capped. I don't really see the problem in people hiding in forward spawn.

5. There doesn't seem to be any respawn times when attacking last for the attacking team, and the spawn's location is very close to the fourth point. If this is intentional, it is a pretty big mistake as it would be nearly impossible for the other team to push out from last, as past maps have shown.

#56 frag videos that inspired you to play competitive in Videos

Not exactly a frag video but the first game I watched was an old ETF2L match between GamerZone and Paroxysm, I believe it was in season 8 or something like that. An old school player Jorman hit a nice airshot on Taimou and I remember being blown away by how cool it was. After that I started playing soldier a lot more, and I played my first 6v6 season a few months later.

#18 RL Article on Dashner situtation in TF2 General Discussion

Dashner: "I abused you"
Also Dashner: "The email should not be interpreted as an admission of abuse"

His actual words. Interesting case of mental gymnastics here.

Finland is indeed S-tier, as Finnish players don't really talk at all. Can't be toxic if you don't talk.

#99 Can you justify why you're not vegan in Off Topic
funhaver1998thats why i made that last point. but its not like sainsburys are just gonna stock less meat because their customers would be pissed. the only way to make change is set laws based on reducing it

You are aware that it costs money for the stores to buy and refrigerate meat? If meat does not get sold before its due date, it is essentially wasted money. If people buy less meat, stores are not going to keep buying the same quantity of meat, they will buy less meat to adapt to the decreasing demand.

#96 Can you justify why you're not vegan in Off Topic
funhaver1998the damage is made when its on the shelf. not when its in my tum tum.

This is true, but by decreasing the demand of meat products, the production will decrease in accordance with the demand. So if more people eat less meat, less meat will eventually be produced to adapt to the decreasing demand.

#144 My Story With Dashner: A Thread in TF2 General Discussion

I was dashner's friend back in 2017 before I really knew about what he had done. I can attest that he is a very manipulative person. He is very good at making people do what he wants when they don't want to do it, using very dirty tactics normal people can't use without feeling bad about themselves. He is etremely good at making it seem like you are in the wrong and that he is right, and making things seem like it's your fault in any kind of conflict. He also knows how to make you feel like you actually agree with his ideas, or feel like you can't question his ideas. It is really strange to be on the receiving end of that kind of behaviour. It seems so easy and obvious what he is doing once you are out of that situation, but when you are in the heat of the moment it's really hard to the right thing or even know what the right thing to do is. It's very hard to describe.

#27 Can you justify why you're not vegan in Off Topic
Opti_FunsCan you justify why you’re not vegan when in the modern day it’s been proven that a plant based diet is sufficient, and animals are bred, mistreated and killed for nothing more than how they taste?
Vegan harvesting and poisoning fields with highly toxic pesticides kills BILLIONS of insects/birds/other animals per hectare.
Those pesticides result in agonizing pain for those little creatures, way less humane way of killing than let's say hunting (just an example).

Also, when you say a vegan diet is sufficient, you forget to talk about vitamin b12 (or other) supplementation that caused a lot of ex-vegan that didn't take supplements to stop this diet.

What do you think livestock eat up until they get slaughtered?
