Hey young man, remember how I warned you that continue doing whatever you were doing will NOT serve you well in the TF2 community? As a person who also has a bad reputation I tried to help prevent you from walking down a similar path but you refused to listen. I used to be very obnoxious and have a huge ego from pugging with Invite players back when I was new and inexperienced in comp TF2 but as time goes on I started to reflect on my past and realized how dumb I was so I decided to change for the better. Not that my reputation in the community is fixed now but at least I have made some effort towards that goal and I am aware that fixing my reputation is a long term commitment and not something that will be changed over night. You're still young af so it's understandable that you make mistakes but you need to realize that if you want to go above and beyond in TF2 making a bad name of yourself is not the way to go. Hopefully you can take the advice from the ppl who have posted in this thread and become a better person, good luck young man.

I've been emoing out for the past 12-10 hours. I've been thinking surely nothing is wrong with me. I was starting to think what if these guys have a point. Cause when I was winning and not saying a word to others my rep was through the roof. I have screenshoted a lot of this feedback. I'm sorry to chell who I randomly went after. I need to learn not to be so butthurt about when people critize me,to accept feedback, and to keep my emotions in check. Im taking a 3 day break to visit family. What also spoke to me the most is that a lot of people do wanna see me succeed and the fact that most of them are hurt whenever I hurt my self by doing random cringe shit like this. Ill start implementing this feedback starting with binds starting Wednesday. So to recap to make sure I know what I need to work on.

  • stop spamming binds
  • Stop screaming doesn't make you unique
  • Stop being a loud player
  • Be a decent human being.
  • Control my self in comms
  • Keep my emotions in check

Also make sure you contribute

If you actually take everything being mentioned in this thread seriously and try to be constructive about your situation, it will get better. But don’t expect things to change instantly, it will take some time and effort on your part.

Young_Sanitylaundry list of improvements

I feel like part of the issue here is how you try to fit into groups.
You're a people pleaser. You are young and are still learning how to fit in.
And that's an angle you've found works for you right now

You've conditioned yourself to have the whole "loud/annoying = funny" going on because it "works".
Essentially an online class clown, looking for approval by saying dumb shit and yelling.
And that's fine. Everyone knows multiple people like you. Or has known in the past.

Over time you'll find new angles on how to approach friendships. It's part of growing up and it's not something you rush.
You're literally a child. You'll learn. I hope people don't see this thread and now expect you to be a "grown up". Because that's not what this is.
This list helps you way less than you think. It lacks the nuance that comes with experience. An experience you won't gain by asking others about it

You can't rush a process that takes most people decades.
You have burned some bridges. Everyone does at some point.
Over time you learn to understand where you messed up and become a better person out of it.
And you'll gain friendships in which you won't have to feel like you need to stand out just to fit in.

Ironically, this nerd essay also is very unhelpful. Just like the list you'll understand this entire thread in a couple years after having figured it out by yourself.

Don't be toxic, the rest will come eventually (see how unhelpful this actually is despite it being correct advice. it's something you can't teach someone else)

i was that kind of person with my irl friends, the loud annoying one, with all the shitty jokes that would scream a lot blah blah, did the ego thing for a meme but ultimately i wound up isolating myself.
given the choice my friends just stopped talking and playing with me.
because of that during remote schooling i went through this period of self reflection where i understood what my issues were and because of that i accelerated the character growth that a teenager goes through

the lesson here is that if you just focus up and realize why you do the things you do, and how it makes other people feel/think about you, you really can grind that improvement in a sense.
we believe in you young man, you just gotta show people that you have changed
it takes time but it will happen eventually, there are a lot of good lessons here

Thought I would put my experience with you here as it should fit the narrative well.

Back about a year ago I was making a team for a weekend RGL 6s cup in AM. Got some friends on board, but needed to fill out the roster, so I did a LFP post on the Thursday before the weekend. You replied, looking to play scout and I hesitantly let you join, as I was needing to fill the spots for roster lock. The plan was to scrim Friday night, just so we all meet & get to know voices, etc.

On that Friday scrim you were impossible to play with. Not only were you constantly yelling & shit talking "bad AM players" on both your team and the enemy team, but you were actively trolling a close scrim. My entire team muted you in discord during the scrim, myself being the only one not, as I felt responsible as a TL (I wanted to though). Immediately after that scrim I kicked you from the discord, and DM'd you saying how you acted was not okay. Your response to this really showed your character. "It was funny in my defence & I was beasting" was your response to someone telling you that nobody on the team wanted to play with you. Regardless my team went on to talk to the admins to get a replacement, and won the weekend cup.

From that point on I went on to avoid you whenever possible, staying away from pugs you were in, and leaving lobbies if you joined the same team I was on. Even if you have changed in the last year, what you did & how you acted back then will keep my outlook on you the same.

Here is my quick advice: Don't care about what people think of you, peoples opinions do not effect how good at the game you are, or how much you can improve. Find good teammates that want you to improve (in both aspects) & scrim scrim scrim. Pugs do very little to helping you improve over personal demo reviews, MGE, and actual scrims. Maybe I am a little biased coming from HL, but pugs tend to make me play worse overall, cause I get away with dumb stuff that I normally wouldn't do in actual scrim/match scenarios. Regardless of everything, you are young and have talent. With the skills you have and the drive to improve, you could always hop on a new esport when it comes out and dominate there.

I will edit with the RGL team page when the site comes back up

Idk man I've seen you start beef on Twitter
Do you know how difficult it is to start beef on TF2 Twitter? There's like 4 people that actively use that website in this scene.
Other people aren't responsible for your reputation. You also need to realize that a week or a month of having a changed attitude isn't going to offset the longer period of time you've been acting the way you have. It'll take time but the biggest thing you need to stop if you actually do decide to change is reverting back to your old habits, cuz that destroys any credibility you build up.

As much as you may have beefed with our server and our players one thing has been constant- a reminder that we hope you make a change. Everyone deserves a second chance and I greatly respect the self awareness. I don't hold a grudge against people who have made a change, and I really couldn't care less about tf2 beef to begin with, so keep at it when you say you want to make a difference. Looking forward to the young man redemption arc.

Regardless of everything, you are young and have talent. With the skills you have and the drive to improve, you could always hop on a new esport when it comes out and dominate there.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding this but pretty much everything here isn't super helpful. Saying that literally no matter what he does, you will not care and will always treat him for how he was regardless of his improvement helps absolutely no one, least of all young man himself. It's hard to motivate yourself to change if someone tells you that even if you become the best version of yourself you can be, people will still remember/treat you as the worst you there ever was. That statement is untrue to like 99% of people, and honestly just hurts young mans development for no reason

2nd paragraph is either obvious/who asked. The problem with young man both in pugs and as a player isn't his skill. Obviously he's not insane, but he's fine for the div he is playing and that's not at all why he's disliked. It's purely based on his attitude, comms, drama and general annoyances created by him in pugs. Telling him that demo reviews, mge and scrims are better for improving his gameplay are things no one asked about or are relevant to this thread.

It sucks you had a bad experience with him, and it's a shame that you will never be able to look past it, but you're (intentionally or not, idk) implying that he should stop pugging and essentially step away from the comp community beyond scrims/mge and demo reviews, and that he should wait for a new game to come out and "try again". This is awful advice, and not at all something that represents the wider communities thoughts of young man as most people do want to see him grow and succeed to meet his goals in tf2.

On a thread about advice and growing as a player, you made it very easy for him to understand what you said as "you will never really be accepted" and that he will never have a good footing/rep in the tf2 community. Once again idk if this was ur intention, but either way this message is much more harmful than helpful.
